February 11
World day of Prayer for the Sick
Throughout Resurrection Health Care, in all of our facilities, we are having special prayers for the sick and the caregivers of our sick patients and residents. This is a prayer written for the occasion by one of our chaplains at West Suburban Medical Center
A prayer for caregivers
Come walk beside us God.
Make your healing known,
and your consolation felt,
here at West Suburban and throughout the world.
God, grace our rejoicing and our weeping together
to be peace and healing
for any fear or grief, pain or sickness endured,
here at West Suburban and throughout the world.
Give us grace this day to tend to those in our care
with full attention and true tenderness,
here at West Suburban and throughout the world.
Remind us anew to use our hearts
as well as our minds and hands in all our care giving,
here at West Suburban and throughout the world.
Create in us a generosity of spirit,
that we may clearly see the unique spark in each person we serve,
so that no one in our care today,
might feel themselves a burden,
here at West Suburban and throughout the world.
Let us remember we are ONE.
Let us honor our call to the service of healing,
and the part we play in this ministry
here at West Suburban and throughout the world. Amen.
(Prayer by Sr. Sandra Sosnowski, CSFN)
